When you're doing your best to grow a business, surround yourself with people who will not let you fail.
In any sort of enterprise, project, collaboration - you need people to help you. You can't do it alone.
You know this.
The idea that you can't success without the help of others is so familiar - it's a cliche.
It shook me.
"Who are the people I will not let fail?"
I realised my list was tiny. I couldn't be there for everyone. The people I will not let fail are few.
It's hard enough trying to prevent myself failing. The amount of energy I have in my tank for "people I will not let fail" in limited.
(No omnipotent fantasy please.)
Growing your business is great.
It's satisfying. It's a challenge that develops & realises your potential. It's your legacy.
You need marketing skills to compete for affection, desire & sales. You need more meaningful marketing to make an impact in the crowded marketplace.
But you need more than skills. If you surround yourself with people who won't let you fail - you have a much better chance.
Here's your job today :
Make two lists :
(1) People I will not let fail
(2) People who will not let me fail
After you've compiled both lists - you'll feel a whole lot better.
